About me and my journey to Move With Mel

Mel has been inspiring people to Move for over a decade. Her journey began in August 2014, when she started promoting physical activity across Essex with the Active Partnership for Greater Essex. In April 2022, she took on a new challenge within the same organisation, working on a government-funded programme that provided sports camps for children from low-income families — ensuring they stayed active, well-fed, and socially connected during the school holidays.
Driven by a passion to help others on a more personal level, Mel qualified as a Personal Trainer in January 2022. She began leading exercise classes and offering 1:1 training in the gym before recognising that not everyone feels comfortable in that environment. This realisation inspired her to create a welcoming home studio, where she could offer personalised sessions for individuals and small groups. The studio also became the perfect space to record live, regular online fitness classes, including workplace stretch sessions designed to help desk-based workers move more and sit less.
In May 2023, Mel followed her lifelong dream to travel — quite literally going on the Move! Her adventures across South America and Asia deepened her understanding of herself, the world, and the importance of holistic wellbeing. During her travels, she pursued another passion: Yoga. In November 2023, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in Bali and became a registered Yogi with Yoga Alliance. From January to May 2024, she shared her practice by hosting yoga classes in India — on rooftops, by lakes, and even in the desert near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Continuing her journey of personal growth, Mel became a qualified Life Coach in April 2024, with the aim of helping others set meaningful goals and follow their dreams — just as she had.
Having learned so much from her travels and experiences, Mel founded Move With Mel to combine her expertise in fitness, yoga, and personal growth. Her mission is to support others in improving their overall wellbeing through movement, helping each person discover activities they truly enjoy and can sustain as part of their lifestyle.
In August 2024, she proudly launched her new training platform, designed to help people set and achieve their fitness goals, improve their wellbeing through holistic approaches, and, above all, feel good through movement.

Helping others has always been at the heart of everything I do. I know what it’s like to want to feel better — to move more, have more energy, and create balance — but not know quite where to start. That’s why I’m so passionate about supporting others to find what truly works for them.
For me, health should never feel like a punishment or a chore. It should feel good. When we train together, my goal is to help you discover movement you actually enjoy — the kind that fits into your life naturally and makes you feel proud, strong, and energised.
Over the years, I’ve learned that real wellbeing is about so much more than just how we look. It’s about how we feel — physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. With a holistic approach that brings all of those elements together, I’ll help you make meaningful, lasting changes that go beyond fitness… changes that help you move through life with confidence, balance, and joy.
