Mel has been helping people to Move for the last 10 years! She started her work in this field in August 2014 when she started to work promoting physical activity across the county of Essex at the Active Partnership for Greater Essex, in April 2022 within the same organisation she started to work on a government funded scheme to run sports camps for children from low income families to ensure they are well fed and can enjoy social activities during the school holidays. On a quest to progress in a new career pathway, she had qualified as a personal trainer in January 2022 and then started to work at the gym leading exercise classes and doing 1:1 personal training. Following the realisation that not everyone’s preference is to embark on their training journey in a gym, she then created a space within her home to host clients for 1:1 and group training. This space also then doubled up as a great studio to record live regular online classes which she started to run weekly for a subscription channel and also a weekly workplace stretch sessions to help those with desk jobs to reduce their time being sedentary.

Mel decided to follow a passion for travelling and went physically on the Move in May 2023! Whilst travelling she gained a greater understanding of herself, the world, many cultures and new ventures which she would like to take.

After travelling and volunteering in South America, she decided to follow her dreams of visiting Asia and also becoming a yoga teacher. With both these dreams in mind, she booked her Yogi YTT training course with a school in Bali and there she undertook her 200 hour YTT training and qualified as a registered Yogi with Yoga Alliance in November 2023.

From January – May 2024 she was working in India hosting Yoga classes within a hostel in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in various locations like rooftops, in the desert & by lakes.

Then in April 2024 Mel undertook a life coaching course and became a qualified life coach in a quest to help both herself and others in the future as she knew after travelling she wanted to find a job where she can help others to set their goals and follow their dreams too. 

After learning so much through travelling Mel has now started Move with Mel to embark on her new passion of all impacting overall wellbeing of others through movement, a passion she can fulfil with her skills of fitness she gained before leaving home and then also the skills she has gained after leaving home through her yoga experience.

Mel believes that everyone can enjoy movement in their own way and has a passion to help people find the activities they enjoy and can build into their lifestyle to make lasting changes for an improved quality of life.

Therefore, in August 2024 Mel was very pleased to launch her new training platform with an aim to help others set and work towards achieving their fitness goals, to improve their overall wellbeing with holistic approaches, to support others on their journey and ultimately for them to feel good through movement.

For me the upkeep of your own health shouldn’t feel like a chore so when training with me we will work to finding activities that suit you, a programme you can sustain alongside your lifestyle and more importantly things you enjoy! 

Also, I understand that improving your health isn’t just about changing your physique by lifting weights in the gym, many other factors impact our health such as mindset, environmental factors, lifestyle choices etc. Therefore with my skills and qualifications I can help you achieve your goals using holistic methods and in turn we can make lasting changes in your life which will improve every aspect of your wellbeing – physically, mentally, socially, emotionally & intellectually.

With Move with Mel, as suggested by the name, you can train with me from anywhere! I offer in person, online and mobile Personal Training & Yoga services. I can train 1:1, with couples and also can come to your organised events and get togethers to host exercise and wellbeing sessions. 

At the moment my services are available both online and within the comfort of your home (if suitable space allows & is within Thurrock).
